Tiger mom – or Theta mother?

As the Tiger Mom of America made headlines back in the Spring of 2014 with her draconian regime recommended for children who want to succeed in academia – and therefore by implication, succeed in life – here in the UK parents anxious about their children’s exam success are using more holistic methods.

What to some seems like healthy education can be seen by others as inappropriate academic bullying – but with education being so important for our children, how do we find more acceptable ways to support them?

Theta Healer Debbie Talalay gets to know Marianne Hartley of Hartley & Soul

What made you become the expert you are in your field? Why did you start offering this service?

Over the twenty years of working as a brand designer, I’ve had an equal passion for the mind body spirit connection and the effect that our thoughts and our surroundings have on how we feel.

When we look at something beautiful, be it in nature, art or architecture, we feel reconnected to ourselves and we are instantly more at ease. I call this Healing Design.

I decided to create brands that are a true reflection of the values and vision of my clients and their business, so that their brand could become a reflection of the DNA and life-force of their business. Simply by looking at their brand, my clients would feel reconnected to their vision and their customers automatically drawn to their service because it would ‘resonate’ with them on an emotional level.

I launched Hartley & Soul in 2013 to bring two passions together – healing and design – to create beautiful brands that capture all of our senses and leaves us feeling connected to our heart.

Theta Healing As An Eczema & Psoriasis Cure – Myth Or Magic?

We live in a world of science where modern medicine has a pill for everything, but we still can’t explain the root cause of why some people get cancer, or even cure something as common as eczema and other skin rashes.

Drugs and skin ointments can have a limited effect for a period of time, but don’t stop these conditions from reoccurring.

According to WebMD, Pimecrolimus and tacrolimus are medicines which you rub on your skin to treat moderate-to-severe eczema. They ease inflammation but may increase the risk of skin cancer and non-Hodgkin’s lymphom. Corticosteroid pills, liquids, or shots, are powerful drugs which can help to relieve the symptoms of severe eczema. Because of the risk for side effects such as skin damage and bone loss, they can only be taken for a short time.

So ultimately, many of the modern Eczema treatments have serious potential side-effects.

We also have available drugs that turn down your immune system, and ease the symptoms by helping to keep your body’s defences from overreacting. However, the side effects of these drugs can include high blood pressure and kidney problems.

Antibiotics, antihistamines and OTC hydrocortisone creams are the least dangerous, but they also have side effects, as can some of the more ‘natural’ approaches such as using Ultraviolet (UV) light – too much of which can age your skin and raise your risk of skin cancer.

So surely there must be a completely safe way to deal with Eczema, somewhere, which can ease this blight on so many lives?

When you take an approach that is based upon the interconnectedness of body, mind and spirit, then suddenly the rules seem to change.

Instead of dealing with the external presentation of a condition, the body is allowed to heal the deeper blocks that lie behind the ailment. And the best part is, this process does not have any harmful side effects.

On that basis alone, using Theta Healing to remove a condition that has been a serious issue for years would seem, at the very least, worth a try.

But is the ability of Theta Healing to elicit a cure for a skin condition, just a myth? Or if it does indeed work, is it some kind of magic?

Just as early civilisations thought the world was ending when there was an eclipse because they knew nothing about astrology, we today are largely uneducated on the subject of energy healing techniques such as Theta Healing.

In the same way that counselling can shift long-held beliefs so that a person becomes free of those particular psychological blocks, Theta Healing removes blocks on a deep energetic level – only much more quickly than ‘talking therapies’ and without the person having to re-live painful experiences. So, from the patient’s point of view, energy therapies can bring results in less time and with less stress than other methodologies.

But what has that got to do with curing Eczema?

Well, the body will heal itself of most things if we let it, and remove the blocks to that healing if we use the right techniques. We are so interconnected, that psychological blocks can have physical consequences. Our bodies often reflect our emotional state – we all know how we have to rush to the bathroom when we are nervous!

Skin conditions are often related to stress and blocked emotions, or even deeper issues. No skin cream can deal with these – but Theta Healing can.

So if it’s not magic, then how can you prove it’s not a myth?

Real life case studies. That’s how.

Case Study 1: Ms D

”I was tired of living with eczema, and of same-old answers from GPs and dermatologists. I turned to homeopathy and Theta Healing. After the first treatment I experienced a brief flare-up, but then my skin was visibly clearer and less itchy. At a wedding this weekend I was complimented on my skin – a sign of the real breakthrough this healing has been for me.” – Ms D. Mediator and Educator.

So how does Debbie Talalay achieve these quick results?

Let’s take a particularly challenging case study – a client with severe psoriasis – which can be even more difficult to get relief from than eczema: Case Study 2 “My client told me that

Case Study 2

“My client told me that the psoriasis she had on her scalp for 25 years had disappeared overnight following the Theta Healing. She said she’d previously tried everything and everyone – and no one had been able to help her – and that it was nothing to do with the homeopathic remedies I’d given her as she hadn’t had time to take them – but had healed because of the Theta work alone, that we’d done together.”

Now the next part is where some people could feel that we are moving into the realms of magic rather than science – but interestingly, past live’s do affect all of us since we are genetically coded to bring forwards multiple aspects of our ancestors. This is well understood in homeopathy and other respected complimentary therapies.

Debbie goes on to explain:

“During the Theta Healing session, using Kineseology, we had discovered that she’d inherited a belief from an ancestor that she was a sinner and needed to mortify the flesh. She would do this by wearing a hair shirt, which was a common practice in Tudor times, and which they covered with a beautiful robe so no-one would know. The psoriasis was her “hidden punishment”, her hair shirt, which was covered by her beautiful head of hair. No one knew that she had this problem, as it was hidden – just like the hair shirts that hurt the flesh worn by our ancestors who believed themselves to be ‘sinners’.

When the mind is healed the body will often repair itself – in this case, astonishingly quickly!”

For children in particular, Theta offers a totally safe and simple way to deal with Eczema – and so also to make a real difference to their confidence and self-esteem, which severe eczema can seriously impact upon.

Theta Healer Debbie Talalay gets to know Leigh Ashton of Sasudi

In this interview, Theta Healer Debbie Talalay gets to know Leigh Ashton of Sasudi, as part of a desire to bring to the attention of her readers a diverse range of experts.

Leigh Ashton of Sasudi

What made you become the expert you are in your field? Why did you start offering this service?

It was organic…I was a very successful sales consultant, promoted to sales manager which led to an interest in psychology and eventually to me starting The Sales Consultancy in 1995 to help small businesses to grow their sales by changing their thinking.

In 2016 I launched an online platform Sasudi which is a complete sales toolkit for small business. I’m about to launch a sales mindset eLearning platform for sales teams.

In my experience most people know what they should be doing to get more sales…they just don’t do it because of stuff going on in their head! Change the stuff in your head and you do the activities that grow your sales.

What are the core benefits of your service to your clients? Start with the MOST important benefit, and explain how your work impacts the lives of others.

Core benefits: People get rid of their fear and dread of sales and find the confidence to promote themselves and their products/services in a way that’s right for them.

The mindset shifts as they experience leads not only to more sales success…it also increases success in the other areas of their lives as their confidence and belief in themselves grows.

What advice to you have for others in your line of work? How could you best mentor them?

Be yourself and share what you’re really great at. You’re given a gift to share with the world…focus on that and leave others to share their gift. You don’t have to be the complete solution!

What are the key drivers of people who use your service? What makes them take that first step to come to see you or access your offerings?

Generally, they are worried and don’t know what to do to grow their sales…or they are super enthusiastic to be the best they can be and want to fine tune their skills and thinking.

How do you deliver your service? 1-1? Online?

Online and in groups. My business is designed to offer great flexibility and appeals to busy entrepreneurs.

What is your vision for the future regarding your work? What do you intend to achieve?

My outcome is to help over a million people change the way they think about sales, leading to a more heart-centred and caring approach to customers.

What kind of collaborations are you looking for? What other professionals would complement your work with clients? What other ways would you like to support your clients?

Not looking for collaborations right now but later this year or early next year we’ll look to collaborate with companies that deliver solutions to Sales Directors or small business owners and explore what that brings.

What else would you like to share with our readers?

“Never compare yourself to others, only to the you of yesterday.”

If you are moving towards your goals each day…even if only by a bit…you are going in the right direction!

So ask yourself at the end of each day:
”Based on my experiences today, what could I do differently, to be a better version of myself tomorrow?”

What made you become the expert you are in your field? Why did you start offering this service?

In my opinion, for someone to call themselves an expert, they don’t only need academic qualifications for their respective profession; they need personal experiences. This is absolutely true for my case.

In the span of 1 year, I went from being a consultant to being a wellness coach. My background is in business management consultancy; 3 degrees in English literature, business administration and EMBA; 19 years worth of experience in project management, market entry services and business development. But upon the birth of my second child, things changed.

Personal issues with hormonal imbalance, weight gain and the varying moods that followed, all lead to my spark of interest towards beginning to live a healthier lifestyle.

The changes were not only personal, but also professional. I completed an additional degree and became a certified wellness coach. Following this came the early symptoms of perimenopause, with which I struggled for quite some time. In consequence, I acquired knowledge and experience in this aspect of life, and decided to help other women in my position. And this is how I ended up where I am now!

I work with women over the age of 35, who want to get their life back.

What are the core benefits of your service to your clients? Start with the MOST important benefit, and explain how your work impacts the lives of others.

My clients say that they are gaining control over their lives once again, which is the greatest benefit for them. During the perimenopause and the menopause women endure many changes in their body, their mood, their longings and their dreams. Simultaneously, they feel as if they’re losing the soil beneath their feet. This is why my advice and my work help them feel like they’re themselves again. The other benefits are related to reaching their optimum weight, improving their sleep and the return of confidence in themselves.

What advice to you have for others in your line of work? How could you best mentor them?

My general advice is: You can do it! Everything is possible. Don’t stop believing in yourself! I know it sounds cliché, but it’s true. My job becomes very easy if you believe and set yourself up for change. This way, we reach the goals you set, together. I do, of course, give advices. But, I truly believe that hand in hand with the client the changes will really happen. We reach the established goal together and I can see a smile upon my client’s face.

What are the key drivers of people who use your service? What makes them take that first step to come to see you or access your offerings?

My clients are women who are surprised in a way by the changes which happen with their bodies and minds at a certain time in their lives. Most of the time they don’t expect this to happen at the age of 35, or even earlier. And naturally, they think there’s something wrong with them. After going through all those ‘onslaughts’, doctor appointments and chaotic internet browsing for the reasons behind the changes, they decide to seek other professional help. They find me through the internet or through recommendations, which is the preferred alternative to me, as that way, they tend to open up easier and work more smoothly with me.

I work predominantly online. This economizes time, effort and resources. Most of my clients are out of the UK, and this is the only way for me to work with them. Though, this is also the preferred way of work in London, for the same reasons. Of course, I still communicate face to face with some of my clients here, especially with those who have chosen my three-month coaching programme, or those who have chosen a one-day VIP programme (6 hours of intensive coaching, carried out at a private club in Central London).

Apart from my coaching career, I organise retreats, combining my coaching sessions with activities such as yoga, meditation and cooking for perimenopause and menopause. I organise these retreats in collaboration with a leading nutritionist and a yoga instructor.

What is your vision for the future regarding your work? What do you intend to achieve?

I am of the belief that experts like me will always be looked for. In fact, I believe that our help will be ever more appreciated by our clients. What I want to achieve is that I want to reach out to more women, to tell them that what they are going through is a completely natural process, which should be looked at with different eyes. Being this age is wonderful; it brings new beginnings – professionally, personally, spiritually and emotionally. I believe that this change can be beautiful, happy and calm.

What kind of collaborations are you looking for? What other professionals would compliment your work with clients? What other ways would you like to support your clients?

I would be happy to work with people who add value to my services – doctors, homeopaths, practicing alternative medicine. Occasionally, my clients require such intervention. When I realise that I am not the one that can help them fully, I need these professionals, and I turn to my partners. I also happily work with representatives of the beauty industry – clinics, cosmetic centres, fitness halls, massage studios. This enables me to offer my client services, which are holistic by origin. Nutritionists also play a large role in what I do. They help me out in instances when my qualifications don’t match the situation at hand, such as nutritional disorders, etc. I am open and willing to work with other professionals, who could add on to my services.

What else would you like to share with our readers?

There is always more to share but I would like to tell your readers that all women can glow. I strongly believe in this – and I can help you glow!

The Power of Harmful Intentions

The Power of Harmful Intentions

When the mind is overloaded, or when something is too painful, or when the mind can’t deal with an emotion or event it will download it onto the body where it will be stored until the mind is ready to deal with it.
Many of our illnesses have their origins in an event or emotions that we were unable to deal with at the time.

I have a friend who has had a very itchy, raised rash low down on her left leg. She’s had it for the last 25 years and no-one has been able to heal it.
It comes and goes – but mostly it’s there. – driving her crazy at night.
Of course she scratches the area – and wakes in the morning with a raw and bleeding patch which is still itchy.
She can’t wear tights or anything nylon over it – so this means she’s forced to wear trousers most of the year and can only wear skirts in the summer.

One year, it was so bad that it developed into cellulitis.
My friend went to the Hospital for Tropical Diseases to see if she’d picked something up on her extensive travels.
The hospital didn’t know what it was, and did nothing. So my friend tried normal treatments from the doctor who gave her ant-biotics and cortisone cream to apply to the area.
This proved to be horribly aggravating. The leg flared – the itching increased so that it was almost unbearable.
She’s tried every cream on the market she thought might bring her relief.
None of the creams or treatments has made any difference.

When I see a client where the symptoms are not clearing despite everyone’s best efforts – I start to look at what might lie underneath.
What does the brain and what do the emotions need to clear to resolve the dis-ease?
So – last year on a visit, we used The Stamford Healing Process to go through a few of the painful emotions in my friend’s life which might have contributed to this rash.
She felt very much better after the healing – but the rash remained.

So this year – we tried again, and I questioned her on who might wish her harm.
She reminded me that when she divorced her husband her very good friend had made a beeline for him and had married him herself.
And then she had broken off all ties and friendship with my friend.
My friend was deeply hurt by this betrayal.

So we worked on the emotions around this.
Even though she was aware that her ex friend had done her a favour by taking the husband she’d left and by taking responsibility for him as he got older – the leg remained the same.
We tried removing old vows of their 31 year marriage in case she was making herself suffer for breaking these vows. Still nothing.
Then I realised that the new wife needed to absolve herself of the guilt she felt for her disloyalty to her friend.
The way she had absolved herself was by refusing to recognise that her behaviour had been appalling. She transferred all her guilt onto her friend and cursed her instead.

I never believed in curses until I started clearing people of their negativity and limitations.
I thought that they were just superstitious rubbish.
But when I came across beliefs which would not budge and as a last resort tried to remove any curses around them – then I started to get results.

Does this mean that a curse is a figment of imagination in the client’s brain?
I don’t believe so. I think that our intentions carry a force and a power that create what we want – and also what we don’t want. If someone wishes you ill, they probably have no idea how capable they are of causing you ill. They would possibly be quite shocked. But the truth is that when we use our power in the wrong way and to harm – there are deep and damaging results.

I removed the curses sent by the ex-friend – and then, because the rash had started before my friend’s divorce, I looked for others who had wished my friend harm.
We removed what we found. The leg stopped itching within a few minutes. Several weeks later there has been no further itch and the patch has become smaller and less angry looking.

My friend was plagued by this rash for many years. She stored other people’s ill feeling towards her in that location – a safe place where no actual harm would be done to the body. This was infinitely better than developing a condition such as heart problems or cancer. The body is very wise in how it limits what might be harmful.
The Stamford Healing Process has been developed from Theta Healing.

Post Traumatic Stress

Recognition of Service Men and Women on Armed Forces Day

Keeping love for yourself and others alive

How can humans treat each other like this?

I am seeing so many people right now who are in despair about world events and who say they have lost their faith in humanity.
Though I live in London, United Kingdom – I am aware that on the 25th May the US remembered their service men and women who gave their lives so that we can all live in freedom, I say we – because without the US Forces – my country would have been overrun by the Nazis.

On the 27th June, the UK is going to see events all over the country celebrating Armed Forces Day  to show support to the service men and women in the UK armed forces.

There is a lot of criticism of these forces and very little thanks for trying to contain destructive regimes and situations and I would like to publicly add my thanks.
These men and women have worked and often sacrificed their lives to police the world. It is hard to know how someone who has been in a war zone can continue their lives without some form of residual grief and horror. In my work with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, I find that one of the major casualties is the person’s belief in humanity. When you’ve lived through the horrors it’s hard to hang onto the belief that humanity is good.
I think it’s important to clear these belief patterns – because ultimately – if your belief system has been damaged in this way – it’s like giving power to the very people and regimes that we go to war to defeat.
I also believe that others respond to your belief in them.

If you think back to when you were in love – you could do no wrong. Everything you said was witty and attractive. That’s because you were being held in a space of love by the other.
But if you remember back to your dealings with a person who didn’t like you much or respect you – the opposite is true. You could do no right. Everything came out wrong – and you removed one foot from your mouth only to exchange it for the other.

So – apart from the terrible grief and despair that we subject ourselves to – the bigger picture is also very damaging. When we give in to negative beliefs about humanity – what we’re doing is adding our energy to an already bad situation. We’re giving it an energetic framework in which the horrors can continue.
It is very difficult for a person to change this negativity and despair for themselves. Sometimes a person’s religion or belief in God will get them through – but faith and the belief in a loving God are often destroyed by PTSD.
There are also various healings and meditations as well as effective therapies which can be used to heal our veterans and to heal humanity on the larger world picture. So the view is not as desolate as it would seem.

I know that we have the tools and can and will heal ourselves to bring about a better future.
